Today we’re talking with Cody Schneider, the co-founder of Swell AI. His career in e-commerce started over a decade ago, and while the journey wasn’t perfect, it taught him a lot. Later, Cory transitioned to working in B2B marketing for manufacturing companies. As a digital strategist, he helped these companies move over to digital media.
From that point and beyond, he would go onto be a proven talented digital marketer who is well-versed across different strategies. If it has to do with marketing, Cody can probably do it—and the proof is in the growth he’s helped create for businesses along the way.
Cody emphasizes that he thrives in chaos and, therefore, isn’t the best friend for human resources. That’s why he fits in with small businesses. He feels most comfortable jumping on ideas and taking action rather than doing a headcount and asking for permission first.
One night, Cory stayed at his friend Max’s house while traveling, and he asked if it was possible to automate something. Not only did Max say yes, but within 48 hours, he had completed the first version of the product. That’s how Swell AI was born, and it was perfect timing as AI was just taking on a life of its own.
Cody’s strategy for sending emails is quite intricate, or at least it was. You can’t send as many emails as you used to due to email platforms cracking down, but at the time, Cody was able to send thousands each day. Sending a ton of emails from your core domain or email can be risky, so you have to know what you’re doing before you proceed.
If you can figure out how to incorporate AI into your business and use it to automate as much as possible, you’ve hit the gold mine. The amount of scalable work you can do is incredible, especially if you can harness programmatic SEO. AI is capable of writing the content—the writers now primarily curate the content and streamline it as needed.
If you can get your AI tool, like ChatGPT, to pull from the best sources possible, you’re one step ahead of the game. While you could do this without a human element, generally, for clients, you’ll want to have a human look it over for editing. For now, AI detection software hasn’t really been able to determine whether the content is human-generated or not.
You can take a site with no authority, add hundreds (if not thousands) of AI-generated SEO blog posts, and grow the site traffic tremendously. You can leave the metadata in the hands of AI too. This is just a little bit of the type of information Cody shares with people for free so they can utilize the same strategies for their business too.
The people who came before Cody helped him become the professional he is today. In acknowledging that, he knows how important it is to lift other people up, too. Other than seeking wisdom from others, Cody emphasizes looking at and using all the data that’s available to you. Everything you need to know to grow a business is already out there—you just have to use it.
